About the Jr. Cardinals
Lawrence Jr. Cardinals Football starts August 1st. There are 5 teams based on age and weight.
60's: 5 and 6-year olds who weigh under 60 pounds.
85's: 7 and 8-year olds under 85 pounds.
100's: 9 and 10-year olds under 100 pounds.
115's: 11 and 12-year olds under 115 pounds.
135's: 13 and 14year olds who weigh under 135 pounds. Lineman can weigh up to 155 pounds.
Kids can "play up" - for example, if an 8-year old child weighs 90 pounds, he can play with the 100's. The player wears a green stripe on his helmet and can only play the line.
NO playing down - a small older child cannot play with kids in a younger division.
In August the 60's practice Tuesday and Thursday nights from 5:30-7pm.
The 85's practice Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 5:30-7:30pm.
The 100's, 115's and 135's practice M, T, W, Th from 5:30-7:30.
In September the schedule shifts.

Most games are played on Saturdays. A typical schedule looks like this:
Games do get shifted around and every once in a while teams will be scheduled to play on a Friday night or a Sunday.
We play 4 home and 4 away games. We play our 7 opponents in the North (Bordentown, Florence, Hopewell, Maple Shade, Northern Burlington, Riverside and Robbinsville. We play one random team from the south. Most away games are within a 20-minute drive and if the one south game is away, it is not more than an hour away.
We do a Homecoming Game on a Friday night under the lights and ask all teams to come and support the older guys. In the past few years the Lawrence High varsity coaches, team players and cheerleaders have come to support the Jr. Cardinals.
The official game schedule doesn't usually come out until the end of August.
MUST BE AT LEAST 5 YEARS-OLD TO PLAY
Lawrence Jr. Cardinals Cheer starts in mid-August. Cheerleaders practice 2 nights a week in August and 1 night a week during the school year.
In 2016 we had 4 cheer teams with multiple head coaches. There were close to 50 girls total. Depending on how many volunteers we get to help with coaching, we could open more spots.
Each team cheers at one game per week, except for Homecoming, where all the girls cheer at our homecoming game.
For the past 3 years the cheerleading squad also cheered at halftime of a Rider University basketball game.
